Tech & Web Support Volunteer – VCN

Summary

Vancouver Community Network (VCN) offers several volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in digital access, community support, and technology-based services. Current volunteer roles include Technical Help Desk Support, Web Programmer, and System and Network Administrator. Volunteers contribute their skills to helping people access and participate online, supporting both individuals and nonprofit groups that rely on VCN’s services. A minimum commitment of six hours per week during weekday daytime hours is required for Technical Support volunteers.

VCN provides meaningful hands-on experience in a collaborative nonprofit environment. Volunteers receive training opportunities, a statement of service after one month of reliable participation, and a letter of reference after four months. The onboarding process includes completing an online application, attending training, and beginning with observation shifts where volunteers shadow experienced team members. Once ready, volunteers transition into their placement and actively support VCN’s mission to improve digital inclusion in the community.
